Off to Brisbane

After a taxi ride we had to follow the yellow line to the airport terminal

Farewell Cairns
Hello Brisbane

Brisbane Metro area is 2.5 million souls. Phoenix’s metro area 5.2 million souls. Getting around Brisbane is easier on the buses, trains, water ferry services etc. All the bus and water ferry rates are 50 cents one way. Saying that since we are no longer 56 and 61 years old and when in Europe we walked 62 days and held out until near the end of our trip. This time we’ve been walking a lot daily but hit our threshold of take buses as much as we can. It only took sixteen days to get to that point.

Our hotel was across the street from the central railway station and in the heart of the central business district.

Our daily step average this week
An apartment this time with a microwave and a two burner hob (cooktop)
A second bathtub on the trip, and a washer dryer combo unit. Something I will never ever buy. Eight plus hours for one load. 👎 Even a “quick” 30 minute “wash only” takes more than 30 minutes, then one hour minimum to get a very small load dry.
A relaxing ferry ride
Up to the sky deck for a sunset view of the city. We took the elevators.

The sky deck has almost 360 degrees of viewing and a glass floor portion you can stand on.

This is Terry’s view, and David’s too. David could not step out on the glass even after trying to go a few times.
